Virgil Abloh is the first African-American designer on Louis Vuitton.
After former Louis Vuitton men's artistic director Kim Jones was appointed as the artistic director of Dior Homme, The New York Times shares report that Virgil Abloh has been confirmed as the next artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.
“This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams. And to show a younger generation that there is no one way anyone in this kind of position has to look is a fantastically modern spirit in which to start." Said Abloh.
The founder of the haute street wear label Off-White will also be re-locating his family to Paris to take the new role. The first thing Abloh want to do in his new role is to define new code, research about what people actually wear and make a luxury version of that.
In Paris Men's Fashion Week in June, you'll be able to see Abloh first collection for Louis Vuitton.
